A Message from Father Dave
Welcome!
On behalf of our parish staff and parishioners, I am very happy to welcome you to the parish family of Mary Mother of Mercy. Our faith community is made up of three campuses: Queen of All Saints, St. Mary, and Notre Dame. Each of these sites has a rich history of ministry in our city as individual parishes that have now come together as one parish under the patronage of Mary Mother of Mercy. I am delighted to welcome you to this new missionary endeavor.
Here at the parish of Mary Mother of Mercy, we are called—as our motto expresses—to “Receive Mercy, Live Mercy.”
The beautiful name of our parish, Mary Mother of Mercy, reflects two theological truths. First, we remember that Mary is the Mother of Jesus, the One through whom God’s mercy entered the world. As the Mother of our Savior, she is truly the Mother of Mercy, for she is the Mother of Jesus, who is Mercy itself. Second, Mary is called Mother of Mercy because, as a loving Mother, she continually intercedes for us before the throne of the Father, that we may receive an ever deeper measure of God’s mercy in our lives.
Under her maternal care, our parish strives to reflect and radiate God’s mercy through lives of charity strengthened by the celebration of the Sacraments—especially Eucharist and Confession.
Mary Mother of Mercy, pray for us!
